Finally, after much eggpectation, Mr. Sunnyside and Friends are back in a whole new eggciting adventure. The second book is called “Investigation: The Key to the Missing Violin.”
It all starts out when Josephine’s dad’s store – called Uncle Charlie’s Music Shop – is broken into. Her favorite violin, a birthday gift from her dad, is stolen. As a result, Josephine’s hopes and dreams of being a famous violinist are broken.
Josephine sets out alone to investigate, but could not find out who stole the violin. Mr. Sunnyside learns about it, and through egg-noggin, he sends an urgent message out to his friends, Scrambaline and her sidekick, Over Easy.
Scrambaline and Over Easy also learn from Mr. Sunnyside that Deviled Egg has escaped from his carton. They begin to realize he’s probably the likely suspect. Both Scrambaline and Over Easy come to Josephine to help her find out what’s the Key to the missing violin. Without going to eggtremes, the gang must do an eggceptional job of investigating in order to find the violin.
What could be the Key? Find out what happens when the yolk is on Deviled Egg and nobody else gets egg in their face.

Perfect storytime book to grab & hold the attention of little ones during group time. Mr. Sunnyside helped us show our playful side with imaginative thinking. So glad we made an eggcellent storybook choice.

Very inspiring for young children to read. Teaches them about imagination and what it means to use it. There is a lot of clever word play and my younger kids enjoyed it. The the drawing is fantastic as well. We can't wait for the next one!!!!

Mr. Sunnyside is a wonderful children's book exploring the joy of using a more imaginative approach to the boredom many children experience. It's a cute journey for little Tommy to learn more about entertaining himself in a creative fashion and the illustrations are also excellent!

Great topic since kids need to know it is OK to have an imagination! Children may not know it is OK to think certain things and let their mind wander, and that these things are positive and may lead to creativity on other things. Great book!

My granddaughter has an active imagination already but this book just gave her an additional boost. She loves it and insists it be read to her every day. Looking forward to more from Colin Gregory. Highly recommended. Lady J
